Location

Agriturismo Anna-Rosa is beautifully located in the Tuscan hills, halfway between Pisa and Florence, in the village of Legoli (Peccioli municipality).

Strangely and happily this is one of the areas in Tuscany that is less busy, while still offering everything you need for a true Tuscan holiday. From the Agriturismo impressive cities like Pisa, Lucca, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra and Siena are all between a 30 to 60-minute drive away. The Tuscan coast is not far away either. And various hiking routes start in the nearby towns of Peccioli and Palaia. You can also play golf on the beautiful golf course of Castelfalfi at a close distance from Anna-Rosa.

Of course, during your stay, we are happy to help you with advice on all the possibilities.

That too is only an hour’s drive from Legoli.

At a short distance from Agriturismo Anna-Rosa are the wonderful fortress cities San Gimignano and Volterra. They can be reached in about 30 minutes.

Sun, sea and beach

At Agriturismo Anna-Rosa you can enjoy our wonderful swimming pool. But should you want to spend a day at the beach that’s no problem. From the Agriturismo to the Tuscan coast it’s no more than a 45-minute drive. The seaside town of Tirrenia, for example, is lovely, and Vada too is well known for its fine sandy beaches. And do you want to imagine yourself on a tropical island? Then head for the White Beaches (Spiagge Bianche) at Rosignano.

If instead, you prefer some entertainment, you could choose the beach and lovely boulevard of fashionable Viareggio, also known for its annual carnival. Another absolute must is Castiglioncello with its rocky coastline and delicious fish restaurants along the sea.

Golfing

Golfing in Tuscany is a great experience. At just a ten-minute drive from Agriturismo Anna-Rosa lies the Castelfalfi golf course. Twenty-seven holes have been created in the typical Tuscan landscape, spread across two courses (18 holes and 9 holes). Equipment can be rented, so you can leave your own golf gear at home.

Hiking and cycling, canoeing and canyoning

Those who love active holidays will also have their needs satisfied at Agriturismo Anna-Rosa. In the immediate vicinity of Legoli and Peccioli, there are various hiking trails. Do you prefer to explore the area by bike? If you possess a pair of well-developed legs you can discover the beautiful hills by bike. Another option is to make (supervised) trips on horseback. Nearby Treggiaia has a great equestrian centre from which you can take to the riding trails. For the real daredevils….information about canoeing and canyoning or other activities can be found in the general documentation folder.

Markets

What’s more fun during your holiday than visiting a local market or antique market? At nearby Peccioli you can find both: there’s a market in the historic centre every Tuesday morning and a small but lovely antique market is held every last Saturday of the month. Other small towns around Agriturismo Anna-Rosa also hold weekly markets. You can find the biggest market in Pontedera every Friday morning.

The biggest antique markets in Tuscany are in Arezzo (every first Sunday of the month and the Saturday before that) and Lucca (every third Sunday of the month and the Saturday before that)

Supermarkets

Peccioli has a large supermarket with fresh fish and meat sections, and La Rosa, a 10-minute drive away, has a much bigger supermarket with a huge selection.

The centre of Peccioli boasts a number of small shops with delicious fresh regional produce.

Restaurants/ Bar

Pasticceria Del Nonno, in the centre of Peccioli, is definitely worth a visit for their delicacies and ice cream. Or have a lovely cappuccino outside Terrazza in the town centre while you enjoy the stunning views.

Activities for children

When your children have had enough of the towns, the beach and the swimming pool there are still plenty of other fun things to do in the area. For example, in Peccioli (a 5-minute drive from Anna-Rosa) you can find the Parco Preistorico. Various large and small dinosaurs have been reconstructed in this small, laid-back park. Here you can take a nice walk under the pine trees and for the children, there is a lovely playground.

A day at the zoo is always fun and Pistoia has the Giardino Zoologico.

Other tips are the large playground Cavallino Matto near Livorno and the water park Acqua Village in Cecina.
